Cookie Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how DaraSphere uses cookies and similar technologies on darasphere.com. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and identifiers used to remember information, provide website functions, measure performance or protect a service.
2. How DaraSphere uses cookies
| Category | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operate the store, basket, checkout, account session, security, fraud prevention, load balancing and saved privacy choices. | Required for requested website functions and cannot normally be disabled through our site. |
| Preferences | Remember choices such as display, session or form preferences where available. | May be controlled through browser or consent settings, where offered. |
| Statistics and performance | Understand aggregated visits, page use, devices, referrals and website performance so we can improve DaraSphere. | Used with consent where applicable law requires it. |
| Marketing | Measure campaigns or personalise advertising if such services are enabled. | Not activated for visitors who must consent unless and until consent is given. |
| Embedded third-party content | Display external maps, videos, social content or other embedded services. | The third party may set or read cookies when its content is loaded; consent is requested where required. |
3. Store and account technologies
DaraSphere uses WordPress and WooCommerce. These systems may use cookies or local storage to keep products in a basket, maintain a customer session, support checkout, remember account login state, save interface preferences, prevent abuse and provide secure administration. The exact name and duration of a technical cookie may change when these systems are updated.
4. Website statistics
We use website statistics to understand traffic and content performance. Depending on the active configuration, statistics may use cookies or process limited technical information such as IP-derived location, browser, device, referral source and pages viewed. We aim to minimise identifiable data and use consent where required.
5. Contact, support and sign-up functions
Our contact form, support chat, account functions and Aquarium Care Planner sign-up may use security tokens, session storage or similar technologies to submit a request, prevent spam, deliver a requested service and preserve the state of the interaction.
6. Embedded services
Pages may contain links to or embedded content from providers such as mapping, video, social-media or other content services. Loading or interacting with that content may allow the provider to receive your IP address, device data and information about the interaction. Those providers apply their own privacy and cookie terms.
7. Duration
Session cookies expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until deleted. Duration depends on the function: basket and session cookies are generally short-lived; preference, consent and security records may last longer so the website can remember a choice or protect the service. We periodically review the technologies in use.
8. Managing your choices
- Use the cookie or consent controls shown on the website, where available.
- Change your browser settings to block or delete cookies.
- Use private-browsing or device privacy controls.
- Withdraw marketing consent using an unsubscribe link.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the basket, checkout, login or other requested functions from working. Deleting cookies may also remove a previously saved preference, so you may be asked to choose again.
9. Do Not Track and browser signals
Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not interpreted consistently across services. Where legally required and technically supported, we honour applicable consent choices and recognised privacy controls.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when technologies or legal requirements change. For questions about cookies or personal data, email support@darasphere.com or use our Contact page.
