Check whether the selected option is the complete filter or replacement cotton before ordering. A tank’s length alone does not determine adequate filtration; stocking, feeding, waste production and desired flow also matter.
Setup and maintenance
Install the unit securely with the return positioned to maintain circulation without stressing livestock. Keep the plug and all mains connections dry, use a drip loop and disconnect power before handling the filter. If the intake could endanger fry or shrimp, add a suitable guard or pre-filter.
Rinse new media as directed. When cleaning established biological media, use removed aquarium water where practical and avoid replacing all media at once, because beneficial bacteria support ammonia and nitrite processing. Test water regularly; clear-looking water is not proof that it is chemically safe.
